關於榴蓮的故事

馬來西亞人將熟透後自然從樹上掉下來，完整而沒破裂的榴槤送到籠中的貓山 (馬來文「果子狸 Musang」的譯音) 面前，如果貓山嗅後表演得興奮不已，這個極品榴槤才會被冠為「貓山王」。泰國榴槤一般會在未完全成熟便人手採摘下來，然後經海運到香港，在途中慢慢變熟；但馬來西亞榴槤因為由農務省規定所有榴槤必須樹上完熟，自然落果，絕不能經人手採摘，因此每天工人會將完熟落果的榴槤收集後，盡快清潔包裝送去機場空運。

而鮮榴槤一般都會甜中帶甘，而甜和甘的比例會視乎不同品種而有所不同。

時間對馬來西亞榴槤來說是分秒必爭，收果﹑清潔﹑包裝﹑空運﹑提貨﹑運到店舖，以上要在24小時內完成，因為由落果後幾天必須食用。
